In this role you'll:

  • Report to our Director of Procurement and Vendor Enablement within our finance organization
  • Lead the Indirect Sourcing and will be accountable for the strategic sourcing of Waymo's indirect spend categories
  • Collaborate with partners and suppliers to formulate category strategies that deliver value for money, ensure continuity of supply, measurable cost efficiencies, innovation, and world-class sourcing support to our organization
  • Use your procurement expertise in this role
  • Advise senior executives and will also be able to participate in negotiating important contracts for Waymo.

Responsibilities and Daily Activities:

  • Create and support the Indirect Sourcing Team's procurement strategy, prioritize opportunities across the team. Utilize analytics to help demonstrate progress around managing Waymo's indirect spend.
  • Employ strategic sourcing methodologies to develop category strategies, source, negotiate contracts, and manage suppliers. Deliver impactful RFPs and negotiate contracts for Waymo, providing expert guidance on contract terms, including complex pricing options, international implications, and non-standard contracts (e.g., outsourcing contracts).
  • Create scalable processes that enable efficiency and velocity, while maximizing value of our deals and reducing risk to our organization.
  • Cultivate solid relationships with partners at multiple levels, being a trusted advisor who can adeptly navigate the global organization to deliver value.
  • Build a high-performing team, including both FTEs and outsourced BPO resources, that delivers value to Waymo.
  • Manage a team through periods of change and use team resources for impact.

At a minimum we'd like you to have:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 10 years of experience in contract negotiation, including developing negotiation plans and strategies across a diverse range of corporate services.
  • 8 years of experience in team management or project leadership.
  • 5 years of experience leading an outsourced operation

It's preferred if you have:

  • MBA, Master's degree, or professional qualifications
  • Experience with CLM, procurement, and eSourcing tools
  • Demonstrated success in a fast-paced environment, leading ambiguous initiatives.
  • Experience leading teams to achieve process and system improvements
  • Skills to influence and handle change management

The expected base salary range for this full-time position across US locations is listed below. Actual starting pay will be based on job-related factors, including exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the role location or, if the role can be performed remote, the specific salary range for your preferred location, during the hiring process. 

Waymo employees are also eligible to participate in Waymo’s discretionary annual bonus program, equity incentive plan, and generous Company benefits program, subject to eligibility requirements.
