In this internship, you’ll:

  • Support development of fabrication processes and capability assessment activities 
  • Plan and lead DOE’s to drive design, development, and validation of CNC fixtures, injection molding tools, stamping tools, etc.
  • Develop and qualify manufacturing inspection processes, equipment, tools, gauges, and fixtures for raw material, mechanical components, and mechanical assemblies
  • Review part design documentation to ensure alignment with manufacturing process capability
  • Participate in cross-functional technical reviews for proposed manufacturing inspection methods, gauge designs, and inspection equipment
  • Support manufacturing bring-up including gauges, inspection equipment, fixtures, automation and measurement correlation between manufacturing sites
  • Review part design documentation to ensure alignment with manufacturing process capability
  • Work with Global Supply Managers to assess supplier readiness to support build events and production ramp. Identify potential execution issues and provide recommendations to mitigate risk

At a minimum we’d like you to have:

  • Full-time student pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Materials Science, or equivalent
  • Thorough understanding of mechanical engineering drawings and familiarity with GD&T
  • Proficient in statistical analysis and data visualization 
  • Strong project management, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Hands-on experience with common manufacturing processes such as CNC machining, metal casting, and plastic injection molding is a preferred
  • Experience with inspection equipment and reliability test methods is a plus
