Together, we do everything it takes to keep Waymo rolling. 

In this Facilities Manager role, you'll: 

  • Lead and manage the integrated facilities management provider, which can include in-sourced managers and outsourced staff; responsible for hiring, coaching and developing the team. Ability to effectively delegate while retaining delivery responsibility is a must
  • Manage and report on company wide Facilities operating budget
  • Responsible for space planning, tracking, move coordination, and new hire space accommodations, coordinating with Administrative Business Partners and other stakeholders
  • In collaboration with REWS functional teams, responsible for onsite management of Waymo's diverse employee workplace services programs incl. food service, transport, fitness programs
  • Manage vendor service contracts and RFP processes, including obtaining vendor price quotes, preparing contracts and purchase orders, reviewing and approving invoices
  • Partner with Waymo Comms team in developing and delivering proactive and effective communications to Waymonauts regarding all elements of REWS services

At a minimum we'd like you to have:

  • Education: BA/BS degree required
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of service experience with an emphasis on facilities, hospitality, corporate services, property management or equivalent office management experience
  • Strong strategic and operational facilities management and services experience, including the ability to work in a collaborative environment
  • Advanced experience developing and managing budgets (including capital budget justification) with strong financial, contract management and purchasing skills
  • Service-minded and strong customer service focus, flexible and open to new ways of doing business
  • Advanced people management and leadership skills, with proven ability to influence at all levels—excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Strong presentation skills

It’s preferred if you have:

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, ability to listen, approachability
  • Ability to delegate effectively, build and develop a healthy team
  • Calm head during stressful or emergency situations
  • Proficiency in Google Suite Applications (Docs, Sheets, Drive, Calendar, etc)
  • Experience working with ticketing system/CMMS
  • Budgeting, planning and decision-making experience to define and meet performance requirements
