Waymo is an autonomous driving technology company with a mission to make it safe and easy for people and things to get where they’re going. Since our start as the Google Self-Driving Car Project in 2009, Waymo has been focused on building the World’s Most Experienced Driver in hopes of improving the world's access to mobility while saving thousands of lives now lost to traffic crashes. Our Waymo Driver powers Waymo One, our fully autonomous ride-hailing service, as well as Waymo Via, our trucking and local delivery service. To date, Waymo has driven over 20 million miles autonomously on public roads across 25 U.S. cities and conducted over 20 billion miles of simulation testing.
As a Real Time 3D Graphics SWE at Waymo, you play a vital role in building out a new medium for computing, research, and simulation. Graphics SWEs develop technologies in concert with Unreal Engine and other technologies to build incredible, high-quality content for simulating driving in the real world. You will also work with technical artists, researchers, artists, and engineers to build functional prototypes and turn successful prototypes into production ready experiences with robust implementations.
We are looking for a 3D Graphics SWE who can create and own the graphics pipeline for a high end photo-realistic driving simulator. Someone who is equally comfortable with debugging and fixing Vulkan graphics issues, as they are with evaluating and integrating third party solutions. Day to day requirements will vary between optimizing existing pipelines, improving graphical fidelity of our simulator, working with artists and designers to integrate new assets into pipelines, and implementing prototypes and new graphical features.
3 years relevant work experience in AAA video games, real time 3D rendering, VR/AR, or related fields.
