In this role you'll:
- Lead a team of technicians, develop procedures and methods to ensure the most efficient, effective operation of the technical service department, and support Waymo’s safety and quality standards across department activities.
- Ensure the proper tools and equipment are available, general housekeeping, maintenance, and general condition and appearance of the service department, including outside areas and vehicles..
- Perform root cause analysis when customer and/or company goals are not met and improve operations to ensure they do not continue.
- Effectively communicate with internal & external stakeholders, cross-funcitonal teams and outside vendors.
- Provides direction, leadership, and assistance to maintenance and material coordinators.
- Generate KPIs to demonstrate resource optimization and maintain various operational efficiency reports.
At a minimum, we'd like you to have:
- BS/BA or equivalent experience in aviation or automotive technology, engineering, project management or related field
- 6 years as shop foreman or automotive repair manager, military, aviation management or supervisory experience in similar field
- 2 years of experience in fleet operations and vendor/support agencies management
- Ability to work all shifts including, but not limited to, working on holidays and shift rotations and overtime when needed.
- 6 Years Experience with Safety/Quality Management Systems and familiarity with regulatory audits and asset management best practices
- Experience working in a matrix organization, thrives working in a rapidly changing and evolving environment, independently and with cross functional teams.
It's preferred if you have:
- Trucking or Aviation maintenance experience
- Master Technician certification, ASE certification and/or manufacturer certification
- Inventory Management
- Knowledgeable regarding optimization of fleet maintenance, OEM maintenance items and inventory management
- Ability to operate comfortably within and troubleshoot Linux based systems.
- Diagnostic experience with embedded modules, self-driving systems and sensor stacks
- Lean Six Sigma certification.
