Welcoming Steve Fieler as Waymo’s new CFO

I am pleased to announce Steve Fieler will join Waymo in the coming weeks as our new Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

This is a pivotal moment in Waymo’s journey as we continue to scale our fully autonomous ride-hailing business, expand our operations globally, and grow our team. Steve's extensive experience will be instrumental in guiding us through this next chapter.

Steve brings nearly 30 years of financial experience to Waymo. He has a remarkable track record of helping companies—from early-stage ventures to global enterprises—scale, transform, and achieve financial success.

Most recently, Steve was a key member of Google’s CFO leadership team, where he served as Vice President, Planning, BizOps, Investments, and Investor Relations. He also previously held the role of Business Finance Officer for Google's Platforms and Ecosystems unit, responsible for products including Android and Chrome. His five years of experience within Google and the broader Alphabet ecosystem give him invaluable insight into our foundation and growth ambitions.

Prior to his time at Google, Steve served as CFO at HP. His career also includes CFO and leadership positions at various early-stage companies, work as a private equity investor, and tenure at General Electric.

As we scale our ride-hailing service in the U.S. and around the world, Steve’s leadership and experience will help ensure we have rigor to support this ambitious growth. We look forward to officially welcoming him to the Waymo team in December.
