Today, Waymo is excited to announce our transit rewards program, which we will initially offer in the San Francisco Bay Area, with future cities to follow. This first-of-its-kind initiative rewards riders with Waymo Cash when they connect their Waymo rides with public transit and use their Visa card.
Singapore, Next Stop: Bringing Scalable, Safe Autonomous Mobility to the Lion City
Hello Singapore! / 你好/ Selamat Datang / வணக்கம்
Singapore has long stood at the forefront of global innovation—a city where visionary infrastructure, world-class public transport, and a commitment to sustainability shape everyday life. Today, we are proud to announce our next chapter in global expansion: Waymo is coming to Singapore.
Building Waymo’s Risk and Insurance Foundation in Europe with Allianz Partners
As we look toward our commercial expansion in Europe — beginning with our initial deployment plans in London and Munich — we are teaming up with Allianz Partners to establish the insurance, claims, and safety research foundation needed to scale across the continent.
Across Waymo’s 270 million autonomous miles, the data is unequivocal: at least 841 people* avoided injuries they otherwise would have sustained in a traffic crash. Over 300 human lifetimes of driving, the Waymo Driver continues to meaningfully improve road safety.
Our latest analysis of the Waymo Driver’s safety performance now covers over 270 million miles of fully autonomous operations through the end of June 2026 — the distance equivalent of driving the length of Route 66 over 110,000 times. This safety data includes analysis of five of our major metropolitan service areas: Atlanta, Austin, Los Angeles, Phoenix, and San Francisco.
Across these cities, the Waymo Driver continues to outperform human benchmarks. Regardless of fault, it was involved in 841 fewer injury-causing crashes — an 82% reduction compared to human drivers. When it comes to more severe collisions, the impact is even more pronounced: the Waymo Driver was involved in 95% fewer (20x fewer) serious injury or worse crashes than humans.
The safety impact extends directly to where road users are most exposed. Whether it's riding in a bike lane alongside the vehicle, stepping into a crosswalk at dusk, or navigating dense traffic on a motorcycle, the Waymo Driver significantly reduces risk — cutting injury-causing crashes involving pedestrians by 93%, cyclists by 86%, and motorcyclists by 82%.
As our operations scale, so does the positive safety impact the Waymo Driver has on roads, our riders, the communities we serve, and the healthcare ecosystems that serve these communities.
View the full data and methodology here. The Waymo Driver also undergoes a formal safety review before deployment on public roads. You can see the acceptance criteria used to evaluate its readiness in this paper.
*Based on 841 estimated injury-causing crashes prevented, assuming a conservative baseline of at least one injured person per crash
Nashville families, your transportation routine just got a lot easier. Starting today, teens ages 13-17 can hail fully autonomous Waymo rides across 50 square miles of Nashville when linked to a parent or guardian's account.
Following a successful launch in Phoenix, Waymo teen accounts continue to provide much-desired independence for teens—giving them the freedom to get to school, sports, and extracurriculars, and giving busy parents their time back. Teen accounts also offer parents peace of mind with specially-trained Rider Support agents, trip status sharing, and automatic ride receipts.
We recently offered early access to select teens in Nashville to hear directly from locals how Waymo rides may simplify their busy lives. Nashville teen, Asher Huffman, shared, “I really enjoyed being able to hail a ride home from a concert without having to bother my parents, and I even got to show Waymo off to my friend. Getting to play my music as loud as I want, with no one else in the car, was also awesome. Kind of like I was in my own little bubble.”
Asher’s mom, Amy Huffman, agreed and shared, “It was a huge help to our family. Whether my son was staying late at school or going to a concert downtown, I didn’t have to worry about how he was going to get home or rearrange my own plans to pick him up. It gave him more independence and took a real burden off of us as parents.”
Access to safe transportation doesn’t just lighten the parental load, it can also unlock opportunity. We partnered with the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Valley and the Legacy Institute to study the impact that access to reliable Waymo rides had on their summer internship experience. Access to Waymo for commuting cut reported stress in half from 86% down to 43%.

Starting today, anyone in Houston can download the Waymo app and hail a fully autonomous ride. Since opening our service in February, we’ve welcomed more than 100,000 riders in Houston from our interest list to experience the safety, reliability, and magic of Waymo, and now we’re offering our service to everyone.
We’ve proudly helped Houstonians run errands, commute to work, and celebrate nights out with friends. The Houston community has embraced Waymo as a vital resource for expanding accessible and reliable transportation options across the region. Raul Gallegos, First Vice President of the National Federation for the Blind of Texas shared, “The National Federation of the Blind of Texas is happy to hear the news that Waymo will be fully available in Houston. This means better independence and greater accessibility for blind riders. We can hail with confidence that we will have the same reliable Waymo Driver, who is happy to welcome us and our guide dogs.”

Las Vegas is a city built on unforgettable experiences, and starting this season, getting to and from the stadium will be one of them. Today, we’re thrilled to announce that Waymo is the Official Autonomous Ride-Hailing Partner of the Las Vegas Raiders and Allegiant Stadium, marking the first-ever partnership between a professional football team and an autonomous vehicle company.
This partnership is all about elevating the fan experience. Riders traveling to Allegiant Stadium with Waymo will have access to a dedicated Waymo pickup and drop-off area, complete with clear wayfinding signage to ensure a seamless experience for all games, concerts, and major events.
And we don't just want you to have the best seat to and from the game; we want you to have the best seat at the game. One lucky rider at every home game will be upgraded to a VIP fan experience. We'll also be introducing a "Kickoff Kid" program, giving local youth a once-in-a-lifetime chance to step onto the field.
“Fans come to Allegiant to experience once-in-a-lifetime moments, and getting in that mindset all begins and ends with the journey,” said Sandra Douglass Morgan, President of the Las Vegas Raiders. “Partnering with Waymo reflects our drive to lead the industry in innovation and provide fans the best experience. Most importantly, it gives them a safe, reliable autonomous designated driver so they can focus entirely on enjoying the event.”
"Waymo has a proven track record of moving fans safely to and from the world's biggest sports and entertainment events," added Waymo Chief Marketing Officer Suzanne Philion. "We're bringing that same convenient and magical autonomous experience to the heart of Raider Nation, building strong community relationships in Las Vegas well beyond game day."

Since opening our service in February, we’ve welcomed nearly 150,000 riders in Dallas from our interest list to experience the safety, reliability, and magic of Waymo, and now we’re offering our service to everyone.
We’ve proudly helped Dallasites run errands, commute to work, and celebrate nights out with friends. Now, we’re going a step further to unlock a new way for tourists and other visitors to get around the city. We continue fully autonomous testing at Dallas Love Field Airport terminals and look forward to serving travelers there soon. And to get there efficiently, we’ll soon begin fully autonomous testing on Dallas freeways, which is the final step before offering these routes to public riders.
The Dallas community has embraced Waymo as a vital resource for expanding accessible and reliable transportation options across the region. Chris Justl, CEO, Epilepsy Foundation Texas, shared, "Waymo autonomous vehicles are not just the future—they’re a transformational step forward for the epilepsy community and anyone living with medical conditions that limit their ability to drive, creating a new pathway to safe, independent travel. At Epilepsy Foundation Texas, we’re proud to partner with Waymo to help bring this future to life across Texas.”

Summer break is here, but we’re keeping our proverbial foot on the pedal. We’re preparing to launch fully autonomous operations in Denver, Las Vegas, San Diego, and Tampa. We’re also beginning to drive our newest vehicle—the Hyundai IONIQ 5—autonomously with a specialist present.
Going Fully Autonomous in Four New Cities Waymo will soon begin driving fully autonomously, without a human specialist behind the wheel, in our four latest cities: San Diego, Las Vegas, Tampa, and Denver. While these rider-only operations will initially be for employees, we expect to welcome the public soon. These cities will join a growing network of over 10 cities where anyone can simply download an app and hail a fully autonomous Waymo vehicle to go where they want, 24/7, across our sizable service areas. If you’re in one of these four new cities, download the app to be notified when it’s time to ride.
Adapting to New Platforms: The Hyundai IONIQ 5 Beyond confidently navigating new cities, our 6th-generation Waymo Driver is also adapting to new vehicle platforms. We’ve begun autonomously driving, with an autonomous specialist present, our growing fleet of Hyundai IONIQ 5 vehicles. This phase allows us to validate our technology for fully autonomous operations as we work to bring riders even more ways to enjoy Waymo in the future.
Join us on our journey as we bring Waymo to more people, places, and platforms. Download the Waymo app today to get early access and be among the first to ride!
