I love riding with Waymo because as a trans person, Waymo provides me access to safe rides without the chance of a transphobic interaction. There is also the assurance of an efficient route to get me where I need to go in the city that I love.

J Jha, Manager of Transgender, Gender Nonconforming and Intergenerational Programs at Openhouse SF

Being almost eighty years old, I have given up driving and being in a Waymo vehicle is not only exciting, but a safe and easy way for me to get around San Francisco. I love the way Waymo navigates through city traffic and it is priceless to be able to relax while I safely get where I need to go.

Zak Kong, SF resident

Waymo’s impact on safety by eliminating driver error is by far the most exciting opportunity. I’m thankful to be living in a city that embraces technology when it can improve our lives with convenient and safe modes of transit.

Michelle Cusano, Executive Director at The Richmond Neighborhood Center

I think there’s definitely a connection between Waymo and personal safety. One of the things I really like about the autonomous driving that Waymo does is because there is no driver, I can really set up an environment that I feel safe in.

Our members, often single mothers, may work several jobs and attend evening classes, all without a vehicle. Commuting can be a significant challenge and present safety concerns. The convenience and safety Waymo offers could be transformative.

Tisha Janigian, Founder, She Is Hope LA

For many individuals in Los Angeles living with disabilities, having access to safe, secure, and affordable transportation options is not just a convenience; it’s a fundamental necessity that empowers them with independence, freedom, and the invaluable opportunity to be part of the broader community. Waymo is a provider that offers us precisely these vital options.

Fernando Gomez, Co-Founder, Integrated Community Collaborative

One of the greatest barriers for an individual who is blind is access to transportation, barriers to employment, recreation, social, having a social life, pretty much anything. That’s why we’re really interested in autonomous vehicles and the work being done by Waymo.

Emily Coleman, Superintendent, Texas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired

The disability community unfortunately is at greater disadvantage when it comes to social determinants of health, particularly around transportation because it really does…drive all other abilities to be involved in society and to live healthy. When we’re able to design for those with the greatest disabilities in our community, it really uplifts the whole community.
