Your personal data is collected and processed by Waymo LLC (“Waymo”), in its capacity as data controller, with registered offices at 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, United States of America.
Personal data collected by Waymo
Waymo will process your personal data collected in relation to the demonstration event taking place in Balocco, Italy on 1 June 2018 (“Event”). In particular, Waymo will collect and process any personal data:
provided by you in relation to your participation to the Event, such as those that you provide when you fill out a form, respond to an invitation, participate to our Event, provide a comment or however communicate with us.
This information may include your name, surname, email address, postal address, phone number and any other information you choose to provide.
acquired by Waymo directly or through any authorized third party during the Event.
This information may include images and/or video-recordings and your interaction with other participants or with our autonomous vehicles and personnel during the Event.
Purposes of the processing and legal basis
Your personal data will be processed:
On the basis of our legitimate interest, for the following purposes:
communicate with you and carry out any necessary activity for your participation, before, during and after the Event;
communicate and disclose images and videos of the Event for internal, promotional, and/or statistical purposes;
Waymo’s internal purposes of research and development;
Waymo’s purposes in exercising or defending its rights;
On the basis of your consent, if provided and when you have been personally involved in a test ride in one of our autonomous vehicles, for the following purposes:
communicate and disclose images and videos of your test ride to elaborate advertising, videos, images, or any other relevant content and material, including the use of images and videos in which you appear in a clear and direct way;
send you commercial communications as well as advertising on Waymo’s products and services, or performing market researches;
communicate your data to third parties, such as Waymo’s parent company, its affiliates or partners, as well as their partners in the automotive, financial, insurance and telecommunication sectors, that will process them to send commercial communications as well as advertising on their products and services, or perform market researches.
Categories of recipients of your personal data
Waymo may communicate your personal data to any of the following categories of recipients, which may act as data processors:
Our data processors or person in charge of the processing;
Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) to attend the event;
Third party press agencies or any other party that is involved in the organization of the Event;
Our insurance company or third party consultants (if needed)
Public authorities and enforcement bodies when it is required to do so by the law.
It is possible that some of your personal data will be collected directly by FCA during the Event. In this case FCA will process your personal data as data controller. This privacy notice does not apply to processing carried out by FCA as data controller. Please refer to the FCA’s privacy notice in respect of processing carried out by them.
Retention period of your personal data
Your personal data will be stored solely for the duration that is necessary for carrying out the operations relating to the Event and/or any related need of Waymo. In any case, your data shall not be kept longer than 10 (ten) years from the collection date.
Your rights
You are granted at any time with the right to access, rectification, erasure, portability, restriction or objection by sending an email to privacy@waymo.com or a mail to Waymo LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, United States of America. Please insert a reference to the Event when you contact us in relation to the exercise of your rights. With regard to your rights, we inform you that:
the right to access derives from your right to obtain confirmation as to whether or not your personal data are processed by Waymo;
the right to rectification allows you to obtain without undue delay the rectification of your personal data which are inaccurate, as well as the right to have incomplete personal data completed;
the right to erasure allows you to ask for the deletion of your personal data, when a ground for such a request applies, such as, by merely way of example when the data are no longer necessary for the purposes for which they were collected;
the right to data portability, where applicable, allows you to receive your personal data provided to Waymo in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format;
the right to restriction of processing allows you to request a limitation to the use of your personal data, where applicable;
the right to object allows you to object to processing of your personal data under certain conditions. In this context, you have the right to object at any time, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to any processing of your personal data that is based on Waymo’s legitimate interests. In this case Waymo shall no longer process your personal data unless it can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for the processing which override your interests, rights and freedoms or for the Waymo’s establishment, exercise or defense of legal claims.
In addition to the above, you have at any time the right to withdraw from your consent for processing without affecting the lawfulness of processing of data by Waymo that are based on consent before your withdrawal.
