    • Who can connect to Spotify?

Anyone with a Spotify account can connect to Spotify via the Waymo app.

    • Where is this available?

Spotify is currently available to Waymo riders in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Phoenix. We will look to make this available to more cities soon.

    • Can I connect to Spotify via the Waymo app?

Yes. Here’s how to connect your Spotify account using the Waymo app:

      1. Open the Waymo app on your phone.
      2. Go to Account and select Music.
      3. Tap on Spotify to connect.

You’ll be prompted to log in to your Spotify account. Follow the on-screen instructions to allow your Waymo and Spotify accounts to connect.

    •  Can I connect to Spotify during my ride?

Yes. If you connect to Spotify during your ride, you’ll need to start playing music from the in-car screen first, and then you can use the Spotify app.

Here’s how to connect Spotify from the in-car screen:

      1. From the in-car screen, tap Spotify from the menu that slides out from the right.
      2. Scan the QR code and follow the steps on your phone.
      3. Select what you want to listen to.

If ever you need to, you can always go back into your Waymo account settings to disconnect Spotify.

    • I don’t see a way to connect to Spotify.

Make sure you have the latest version of the Waymo app. If you have an older version, you won’t be able to connect to Spotify through the app or car.

    • Can anyone in the car pick songs on Spotify?

Only the person who hailed the ride can choose the songs. However, if the person who hailed the ride has a Premium account, they can start a Jam where other Spotify users can join and add songs to the queue.

    • Will my Spotify account remain connected for future rides?

Yes, once you connect your Spotify account, Waymo remembers it for future trips until you choose to disconnect it.

    • Will my music keep playing for the next rider after my trip?

No, anything you choose to listen to stops playing at the end of your trip, and the next rider will need to use their own account to play from Spotify.

    • Can I tune the sound coming from the car’s speakers?

Yes! We offer an equalizer where you can adjust the balance and fade, subwoofer, bass, and treble of the car’s speakers.

In the Waymo app: Go to Account > Music > Adjust audio settings to get the equalizer. You can also find it through the settings icon on the bottom right of the Now playing screen.
