First Responders

Waymo works closely with public safety officials to ensure the safe introduction of our technology. The instructional guides and video below provide information for first responders interacting with our vehicles. These materials supplement the overview of how we design, test, and validate our technology found in the Waymo Safety Report.

In addition to providing the material below, Waymo proactively offers training to first responders where we operate. We have a dedicated team with over 120 years of combined experience as first responders, and to-date have:

• Conducted in-person training for 35,000+ first responders at 150+ agencies

• Attend annual first responder conferences

• Actively participate in national committees and panels to guide standardization
